We’re very pleased that Haralampi Oroschakoff has created an original, seven-part work of art for our EGH. The patriarchal cross is the key motif in Oroschakoff’s work, and here we encounter it on nearly every sheet of paper. The variations in oil pastels and pencil recall early modernist abstraction, yet they are of contemporary concision. Each work of art has a palpable, inherent studio character: it’s easy to see that each one was made in a layered work process, and not at all once.
