Verkehrsprojekte Traffic Projects

Hans-Christian Schink (*1961 in Erfurt) lives and works in Leipzig.

1986-1991: studied photography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig. 1991-1993: master-class student at the HGB Leipzig. Numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad.

The sparse aesthetics of travel and transport routes are the primary focus of Hans-Christian Schink’s art. His photographs isolate segments and details of highways, bridges, and railways and scenes of their blandly reconstituted natural surroundings. Simple and monumental at once, they are masterpieces of austerity and reduction. These fragmentary images of concrete structures and artificially greened landscapes beneath milky-gray skies are heightened to almost symbolic intensity.

We are pleased to present a typical work from Hans-Christian Shink’s oeuvre, a scene from the German highway A 14, as a Collector’s Edition.

Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
