Bill Jacobson (* 1955, Norwich, Connecticut ).

1981 MFA in Photography, San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco. Works by Bill Jacobson can be seen in the collections of the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and numerous others. Bill Jacobson’s extraordinarily atmospheric photographs draw in the viewer’s gaze, encouraging calm reflection. Difficult to decipher at first, his diffuse, softly contoured faces, landscapes, and city scenes are stubbornly ambiguous. Jacobson’s photographs are fascinating and captivating. This is not artistic fast food but rather vital nourishment for the mind.

Our two Collector’s Editions, each of which is available separately, present urban scenes rendered in subdued colors and enlivened by the silhouettes of pedestrians and the aureoles of colorful streetlights and traffic signals. The viewer realizes immediately that these can only be images from the streets of New York. They evoke a very special mood that is unique to this incomparable city.

Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
