Heinrich Riebesehl
Fotografische Serien 1963-2001

Heinrich Riebesehl (* 1938 in Lathen/Ems) lives in Hanover.

Studied photography at the Folkwangschule für Gestaltung in Essen. 1984–1997: professor of photography at the Fachhochschule Hannover, department of art and design. 1981: awarded the Bernhard Sprengel Prize for Visual Art. 2000: received the Art Prize of the State of Lower Saxony.

Heinrich Riebesehl has had a major influence on contemporary German art photography. His series of Agricultural Landscapes produced between 1976 and 1979 introduced the photographer as an early Germany exponent of a documentary style. According to Peter Sager, these “laconic images of a laconic region” represent the point of departure for Riebesehl’s many years of exploration of the cultivated landscape of northern Germany.

Our Collector’s Edition is taken from the Commercial Architecture series, in which pursued his systematic exploration of his immediate surroundings between 1979 and 1983.

Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
