Most of Mueller-Stahl’s admirers know him mainly as a world-class actor. Some also know that he is a trained violinist who performed in international concert tours before even beginning his career as a film and theater actor. Others treasure his literary talent; he has published nine well-received works since 1980. As a visual artist, though, Mueller-Stahl has remained unknown to a broader audience, even though he has been obsessed with art since the early 1950s: “When I’m painting, I experience moments in which I can really fly.” Over the years he has produced wonderful, multifaceted works of art: drawings, prints in various techniques, and paintings—a significant number of which are portraits of revered figures from music, literature, and the stage. Ever since Mueller-Stahl began seeking a public for his visual works of art nearly fifteen years ago, his art has been extremely well received.
We are extraordinarily pleased to be able to offer two Collector’s Editions by this multitalented artist; they are impressive testimonies to his tremendous creative powers. In a limited edition of 15, the digital prints of two motifs are printed on top-quality Hahnemühle paper and overpainted by the artist himself. Each is a unique original, and both big fans and passionate collectors alike will be excited and intrigued by them.
