Wolfgang Winter and Berthold Hörbelt have been working together since 1992. They first attracted broad public attention at the 1997 Sculpture. Projects in Münster exhibition and have since demonstrated the impressive conceptual and aesthetic qualiy of their work in numerous presentations in Europe, the U.S., Vietnam, Japan and Brazil.

Their architectural sculptures known as Kastenhäuser [Box Houses] are based upon the idea of a walk-in hollow sculpture that defines a space within an undefined space—a space created using stacked beverage cases combined with floor and ceiling panels.

The artist duo has given material form to the enclosed space created in this way in miniature models—one of which is offered by Hatje Cantz as a Collectors’ Edition. They represent a space in their own right, but one that remains only as a volume and refers only marginally to its original enclosing boundaries.

Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
