Heimat

Peter Bialobrzeski (*1961 in Wolfsburg) lives in Hamburg.

1988–93 Studied at the Folkwangschule in Essen, 1991/92 at the London College of Printing. Professor at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen since 2002.

Since 1989 Peter Bialobrzeski’s works have appeared in almost all of the most renowned international magazines and newspapers, from GEO in Germany to the Korean GEO to the New York Times. He is the recipient of numerous prizes, including the famed World Press Award for Arts/Stories in 2003. His photographs have been seen in solo and group shows on all five continents. They have also been published in book form. Neon Tigers, for instance, is Bialobrzeski’s book about the Asian megacities, which was not only chosen in 2004 as one of the “most beautiful German books,” but also received the German Photography Book Prize.

In large-format, panoramic views of ocean horizons and mountain landscapes, of broad plains and moorland skies, Bialobrzeski’s new book introduces us to his photographic vision of Germany. The photographer has selected a fabulous lake view for the special collector’s edition: an homage to the soul of German Romanticism.
